Bokeh + the holidays = a perfect combination. I like the little snowman as well!

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

An absolutely stunning vista. Very cool as I have been there and photographed the sight.

Monday, December 17, 2012

Incredible landscape with the contrast from the foreground and clouds in the sky. Nice panoramic-esque framing as well.

Again, the long shutter speed has made this black and white photo extremely interesting. The details in the rocks and lighthouse are remarkable.

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Looks like it could be an Apple macbook background! Awesome slow shutter speed, the tones alon with the sheet of water look very eery.

Really artsy photo, I like the filter they used, makes it look like it was a film shot. Cool lighting.

Friday, December 7, 2012

I think the strong lighting from the lamp helps create a really eerie mood. I really like the symmetry and the fact that there is only one car adds to the whole dark ambience.

Really like the stop-action in this photo, which is much different than what I usually do when I have water in my photographs. Lighting on the water is also very artistic.

Hands are a great thing to focus on for triptychs. I want to capture the emotional connection that hands can portray.

I'm going to try cutting parts of the face off like this one for my next triptychs. More abstract.

A different take on triptychs. May use this for breadth.

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

I think I'm going to focus on different parts of a person's body, like hands, eyes, smile, etc, to add to my breadth. With a long macro lens I can do some cool things and maybe even turn it in to a triptych.

Such a good portrait- it would only be good in black and white because of the severe shadows and highlights, but the man's glistening eyes and texture on his face make this shot look almost like a painting. I like the square composition as well.

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

I really like this travel photo. The leading lines and contrasting tones from the shadows really make the composition a satisfying one.

I really like this long exposure- the low perspective, the swirl in the pool, and the green and yellow tones in the foliage really make the photo pop.

I like the location of the player in this photo. Along with the blurred background and vivid pattern of blues, it's a very appealing shot.

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

Antelope Canyon in Arizona has been something on my bucket list for a while. Every day at a certain time, sunlight shines through holes in the small canyon creating absolutely stunning landscapes. The details on the canyon walls is amazing as well.

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

I really like the HDR/ long exposure combination. The lights look really crazy. This reminds me of the subway photos I took, but this has much more color.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

This is a different type of triptych that I actually really like. Besides the perfect color-matching, the layout and small story it tells is really intriguing. Will definitely look at this for breath.

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

These types of photos really don't get enough credit. In order to get the shadows and silhouettes in the foreground, but still get distinguished patterns in the background, with the sun as a main part of the photo, is extremely difficult. This photographer's shot came out beautifully, though.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

I really like the colors of the leaves with the overall tone of the photo. A really desaturated photo looks really good with a fall theme. I also like the leading lines created by the hedges and walkway.

Really cool how he got the lights to show up like that. Using tea lights and suspending them must've taken a long time, but really magical and mysterious. Like how he messes with light.

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

This photo looks like a painting! The reflection of the water isn't clear enough to be an exact replication because of the time of day, but the ripples make it look really artistic.

Monday, October 15, 2012

Really awesome fall shot. Of course I like the shallow depth of field, but the water drops make for a really interesting photo. They add to the texture and vivacity of the composition.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

A 14 second exposure for the Aurora borealis in Nebraska! I had no idea a long exposure like this would not have over-exposed the stars or even the lighting in the sky. Simply incredible photo.

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

The lighting in this photo is remarkable. The water could definitely be the subject of the photo, because of the reflection from sky. The vivid tones and unique colors make for an incredible shot.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Besides the really good symmetry and lighting, I really like the emotions on the ghosts's faces. It adds a whole new dimension to the photo, and although it's fairly random I like the idea a lot.

I feel I could DEFINITELY make this a part of my concentration. The bokeh with words that people could be feeling or saying could be an awesome idea. Very short and to the point which I like.

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

I think the composition is really good, with the background being just the brick street. There's a lot of emotion with the child's face that I like, it implies a lot of simplistic thinking. Just him and the ball.

I wish I could go back to Hawaii to take more photos.. the color of the water is something you can't see anywhere else. I like the position of the rocks in this shot, but I love the water and how clear and clean it looks.

Friday, September 28, 2012

This is a photo I took at my stepbrother's wedding. The clear sky and simplicity of the composition make the seemingly small object very intriguing. I used the clouds and surrounding trees to frame the subject, making for a very interesting shot in my opinion.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Perfect lens flare, but I also like the fact that the sun is in the middle of the photo. It's something new that is rarely seen. An amateur would have made the clouds in the bottom right of the photo be the main focus, but I like that Spreng made the focus the colored clouds and the flare of the sun.

This is exactly what I want to do!

79 second exposure, the sunrise distorted because of the moving clouds, the sole object in the foreground. It's simple yet amazing.

One of the techniques that I am planning on using for my concentration with light. Lens and object flaring always offers a cool new lighting situation. Awesome perspective.

It's close to fall! Pretty cool perspective, and the details are really vivid.

So many different perspectives and so many different types of emotion all captured in one shot. I love every expression in this, from the security guard in the orange showing no excitement, to the fans and player going crazy.

Throwback, but I'm thinking of making my presentation to the class on my still life reflection photos I did a while back. They look pretty good for being some of my oldest pieces of work..

Thursday, September 6, 2012

I'm thinking my concentration will build off of what I ended with last year.. long exposures and messing with light. I want to work more with artificial lighting, like misdirected flashes and lamps and etc. Taking an idea and expanding it even further.

Awesome colors. Great timing too

New project on windows! One of my main ideas:

I want to focus on lighting.
